Kelowna screening September 4th.

There are screenings around the province of the new documentary film, “Trouble in the Headwaters”. The film documents 30 years of research by UBC forest hydrology prof, Younes Alila, which show clearly the result of too much clear-cutting in BC: more floods, landslides, and droughts (and resulting fires).
The première showing in Kelowna on Thursday September 4th features a panel discussion after the film by Prof. Alila, as well as the film director, two former BC politicians (Green and Liberal) who have been sounding the alarm on this subject, a Syilx knowledge keeper and the Westbank First Nation forestry manager. The film will also be shown in other locations including the Vernon Public Library on 9th September.
